IN ANOTHER WORLD...

In another world, there is a fantastical land where Beastmen (humanoids with animalistic features) and humans coexist. Centuries ago, the Beastmen fought against their human oppressors and established their own territories on land, sea, and sky. Magic is common as is the presence of powerful deities and gods. The tenuous peace among the factions is rattled by the Firebird, a powerful spirit, setting the world aflame with its corrupt fire.

Fiorella/Fio is at the forefront of this new conflict. With her home destroyed, she along with other Beastmen and humans must travel the land and sea to forge alliances in order to heal a burning world, corrupted by a dark fire.

A BIRD WITH NO WINGS

Princess Alessandra Fiorella Odetta Klein is the youngest child of Emperor Valence, the Avian ruler of the Sky Empire. Notably, out of all ten children, Fiorella, or "Fio" is the only one who is half-human. In a world where Beastmen and Humans are at odds with one another due to a tainted history, her hybrid status is a source of personal insecurity and disdain from others. Despite everything, Fiorella did her best from a young age to live with dignity and grace for the sake of her father and her siblings' approval. With her human mother out of the picture, she was surrounded by the Avian race who viewed her as an oddity at best and an eyesore at worst, unworthy of her royal lineage and magical/physical abilities.

Fiorella was always aware that her position was of little significance. Her father, Emperor Valence, was distant and most of her siblings only paid attention to her by training her in combat and magic. Instead of it being a way to bond with her brothers and sisters, Fio would remember her training sessions as ways for them to vent their frustrations onto her or simply toy with their youngest sibling, their twisted form of love. The only one she felt closest with and looked up to was her oldest brother, Crown Prince Valen; his strength, cool demeanor, and fair treatment of Fio endeared him to her immensely.


THE SKY BURNED

Resigned to live in the shadows, Fio's life drastically changes during the crowning ceremony for Prince Valen. The Firebird, a powerful spirit weaponized by the Sky Empire in previous centuries, awakened, burning with rage. Its wrath destroys the Sky Empire's land masses and castles leaving most of the population scattered, or dead. The lands below begin to become overrun with the Singed, the undead awakened by evil flames and enslaved by the Firebird's song. In the ensuing chaos, Fio tries to escape but falls into the ocean...

A YOUNG HEROINE'S JOURNEY BEGINS...

... She awakens to find herself in the domain of Lord Aoshun, an ancient dragon and de facto leader of all oceanic dragons of the world. He recognized Fiorella as the daughter of the Sky Emperor and saved her from drowning. As she recovers, Lord Aoshun learns of the circumstances that led to the Firebird's awakening; being familiar with the spirit, the Dragon Lord lets the princess know that in no uncertain terms, that unless Beastmen and humans work together to purify the land against the Singed, the Firebird will swallow the world in flames and Aoshun will be forced to make the ocean levels rise to drown out the fire.

Seeing as how this catastrophe started in the Sky Empire, a representative is needed to travel the lands (while fighting off the encroaching Singed) for this goal. Unfortunately, almost all of Fiorella's siblings at this point are missing in action, including her father. Needless to say, she has a long road ahead of her.

Fortunately, the princess isn't alone on this journey. Accompanying her at first, is the dragon knight Suiren with whom she clashes with at first but grows to be her closest companion. Later, Fio meets the relaxed and diplomatic Canine, Cassian, a pair of Feline twins, Lien and Ai Thao, a rabbit assassin named Zephyr, a princess of the human kingdom, Lina. Lastly, the final member of their group is an elderly human hunter, Riorr with whom Fio shares a tie but for now, is not aware.

Fio's quest has its ups and downs and despite the rough start, she has come to love the world that she's only seen from above. Though she still feels out of place due to her hybrid status, the princess is determined to make the lives of everyone she's met a better place by quelling the wrath of the Firebird.


PERSONALITY

The Positives:

⚔ NOBLE: This is not just because she's from a royal background, but Fio has a sense of honor and duty that allows her to treat others with fairness.
⚔ OPEN-MINDED: She has a natural curiosity about things around her; after living in the sky for so long, Fiorella understands her knowledge of the life and cultures of others is lacking so she makes up for it by being open to learn and adapt to other customs.
⚔ DETERMINED: Despite her cold upbringing and the tragedy that befell her family and home, Fio has yet to give up and is absolutely focused on saving the world to make it a place where both humans and Beastmen can continue to exist.

The Negatives:

⚔ CAPRICIOUS: She's born a princess so she can be moody or impulsive especially if she feels like she's being talked down to.
⚔ STUBBORN: While she's not a real spoiled brat, Fio is accustomed to doing things her way and plowing on ahead if no one is there to hold her back.
⚔ INSECURE: Growing up and being looked down upon for her human half or Avian half, has done numbers on Fio's self-esteem so even though she's starting to accomplish great feats, she still struggles with whether anything she does will be seen as worthwhile since her mixed blood makes it invalidated in some people's eyes.
